Stun Gun Volts…Too Few or Too Many?

Posted on | July 26, 2009 | No Comments

When stun guns first came out, perhaps the technology was such that they didn’t feel the need to aim for higher than 50,000 volts or a hundred, but as time as gone by, and with companies competing for business, the manufacturers started making the Stun Gun Volts higher and higher. They eventually had the quarter of a million volts, and the 400,000 and 500,000 voltage models on the market.

The more time passed and the next thing that we as consumers noticed was that you could buy a stun gun with 700,000 or 800,000 volts. Then all of a sudden…bam…they were up to a million stun gun volts, and then eventually they went beyond that!

The main thing is to be prepared, something that we learned as children in scouting, and to have something in the line of self defense, just in case. If you are going to get a stun gun for yourself or as a gift for a loved one, the stun gun volts may not matter so much, but why not shoot for a model with somewhere between the 500,000 and 1,000,000 volts range? Sometimes in life, too much of a good thing (like hot sauce on your food) might not be a good thing, but if you or your spouse is getting attacked by some punk in a department store parking lot; then 900,000 volts of power at the fingertips seems like a nice number to have!

It really is just a matter of personal preference as to how much voltage you may end up buying for yourself. It may be 500,000 or 800,000 or more, but one thing is for certain… the incredible take-down power of such stun gun voltage will be amazing in dropping a thug like a bag of rocks, and hopefully you will never need to use it, but you do want to be prepared…just in case!
